How To Refuel Your Vehicle
Fueling a compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicle is similar to fueling a gasoline-powered car.
For a dispenser with a flexible hose:
- Make sure the arrow on the knob points away from the hose in the off position.
- Connect the nozzle by pulling back the sleeve and pushing it over the fitting on your vehicle. The nozzle will seal tightly and lock into place. Note: In a bi-fuel vehicle, you may have to remove the gasoline cap before connecting the nozzle.
- Turn the lever so the arrow points toward the hose to pressurize the hose.
- Swipe your debit or credit card and flip switch the switch on the dispenser. Natural gas will flow, and you will hear the dispenser turn on and off as it gathers information on temperature and pressure. A gauge on the dispenser will tell you when your tank is full and stop automatically. It is impossible to overfill a CNG tank.
- Disconnect the hose, return it to the dispenser and replace all fuel caps.
Sherex/OPW Dispensers With A Yellow Fitting
For a Sherex/OPW dispenser with a yellow fitting on the end of the hose:
- Turn the lever counterclockwise to retract the coupling teeth.
- Connect the nozzle and turn the lever clockwise to lock it into place. Note: In a bi-fuel vehicle, you may have to remove the gasoline cap before connecting the nozzle.
- Swipe your debit or credit card and flip the switch on the dispenser.
